Ealing Broadway – The Man in the White Suit (1951)

The Man in the White Suit (1951) | Ealing Broadway

Inventor Sidney Stratton (Alec Guinness) creates an ever-lasting fibre; both management and the trade unions in the cotton mill turn on him. Pre-empting Victor Papanek’s book ‘Design for the Real World’ by twenty years, one of the most loved Ealing Studios comedies was set in the North of England but interiors were filmed at their studios in the Queen of the Suburbs, Ealing itself, where there’s been film and TV production continuously since 1929.
