Quota quickie in which train driver Julien Mitchell plans to crash his train full of passengers. There are numerous shots of the Great Western railway line and stations on the route. In a race to halt the train, Mickey Brantford’s car passes the White Horse pub in West Drayton.



Director Bernard Vorhaus was a communist sympathiser, blacklisted in Hollywood, who went on to become David Lean’s mentor and an Assistant Director on ‘Roman Holiday’ (1953) using a pseudonym.

His son David was an electronic music pioneer who formed the band White Noise with Brian Hodgson and Delia Derbyshire.
